- Identify the challenges that course teams face addressing the issues of QA and QE.
- Review the internal quality assurance procedures in place in the institution for e-learning courses to identify the role they perform in assuring and enhancing the quality of the programmes.
- Analyse the issues and factors affecting the application of the QA procedures in e-learning courses.
- Review the contribution of research to improve the strategies for assuring and enhancing the quality of e-learning courses.
- Identify the main challenges and design strategies for an effective application of the internal QA procedures to e-learning courses.
The Workshop is based on research, data collected by the QAA in their institutional audits, and a review of e-learning research/experience regarding the application of QA/QE procedures in the HEA/JISC Benchmarking and Pathfinder projects by the collaborating institutions.
Workshop Programme
The full-day workshop offers participants opportunities for discussion and to review the contribution of research to analyse and improve the effective implementation of the internal quality assurance and enhancement procedures to e-learning courses in their institutions.
The workshop covers 4 main topics:
- Making ideas explicit: QA, QE, Internal QA procedures & E-learning, what do we mean by them?
- Internal QA procedures in e-learning courses
- Issues affecting effective implementation of internal QA procedures in e-learning courses
- Planning actions to improve an effective application of QA procedures to e-learning courses
